Attorney – Trusts & Estates Planning & Administration

Boutique Beverly law firm seeks a full-time Trusts & Estates Attorney to join our growing team. Our practice focuses on trust and estate planning, and administration, including conservatorships, guardianships, probate litigation and corporate matters. We recognize the significant amount of time spent with co-workers and the importance of working well as a team towards achieving our mission of providing excellent client-centered legal services for generations to come.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working independently and as part of a team; be self-motivated with a strong work ethic, analytical and curious; and have a solution-oriented disposition.

Primary Duties Include:
  • Preparing Documents: Asset lists, agenda, correspondence, deeds, for all clients:
    • Basic and sophisticated estate planning documents, with a focus on analyzing assets and liabilities, client goals and objectives, and minimizing taxation
    • Probate & Family Court pleadings for estates, trusts, conservatorships, guardianships, including inventories, accounts, motions, and memoranda
    • Preparing state and federal estate tax returns
  • Managing calendar and tracking systems for all cases and deadlines
  • Pitching in as, and where, needed
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Admission to Massachusetts bar in good standing
    • 2-4 years of trust and estate experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and emerging technologies
    • Familiarity with client management software (LEAP preferred)
    • Familiarity with Probate & Family Court rules
    • Preferred: LL.M. (taxation), CPA or other accounting experience
  • Skills: Strong written, verbal, and listening, communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
    • Ability to multitask on short-term and long-term projects simultaneously
    • Ability to use reference materials and perform basic research
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, and a good sense of humor goes a long way
Salary Range:
  • Base Salary: Negotiable ($75,000-$105,000, commensurate with experience)
  • Paid Time Off: Vacation, Sick, & Personal
  • Retirement: 401K plan (with matching), plus discretionary profit sharing
