Guardianship and conservatorship refers to the legal process of obtaining authority over the health affairs or financial affairs, respectively, of a person. Guardians are able to exercise legal authority over health decisions of a minor or incapacitated person, whereas conservators are able to exercise legal authority over the financial affairs of a minor or incapacitated person.
